About
This blog about our experiences working within the Child Protective Services system as a Foster Parent. As my title suggests, they are not all positive. However, not all of our experiences are negative ones. We have had some great experiences within the foster care system.
At the time this blog was created, my wife and I are relatively new foster parents. We are just finishing our first year as foster parents. In our first year, we have come to believe that this is a calling for us. We started out with the intent to be foster parents as a route to adoption. We have decided that we will continue fostering after adoption.
Many of our posts will be general and vague. Remember that the children in our care deserve their privacy. Therefore, we will err on the side of caution. This is for the child’s protection. We will not give out details about our children. Nor can we as we are bound by confidentiality agreements.
I am sure this blog will grow as we grow in fostering. I hope you enjoy reading it.

I have a MySpace profile for foster parents and adoptive parents, as well as former foster children, and child advocates… I am not a friend of DCS, I am a foster parent who has been banished from the kingdom. I am, however, a proponent of foster care.
